Ron Paul has a book out called, “The Revolution.” I have watched and read about Ron Paul prior to this book, but someone recommended I take a look. It flowed smoothly, and can be finished quickly while allowing the reader to have a firm understanding of his message. If you didn’t know it already, liberty and the Constitution were repeated throughout the book, as they should be since it was the main message of his campaign for Presidency. As the Republican Party deals with its identity crisis, I can see many conservatives beginning to align with a message that Paul delivers. He presses for a limited government that reports to the people, and not one in which people report to ‘it.’ Economics conservatism and fiscal responsibility must be promoted to avoid the collapse of the dollar. He has a respect for life, though I don’t think he mentioned in the book whether he is pro-life or pro-choice. However, he points again and again to issues that the Federal government should not be deciding, but ought to be left up to the communities, families and individuals. Paul pushes for lower taxes, but these decrease must be accompanied by less government spending. The point he makes, and I agree with, is that individuals are better able to help each other than the government. The last item of interest I will mention is foreign policy that gets us out of countries that we have no need to be present anymore.
If the Republican Party wants to reinvent itself, it will need to go back to its roots and I am certain we will see more people begin to call themselves, “Ron Paul Republicans.”

The PA corporate income tax is one of the highest in the nation, and bringing jobs to families in the Keystone state is high priority. I am going to support the lowering of this tax from its high 10% to a competitive 5% so that the state economy is in a better position to thrive. ARTICLE
Allegheny Drink Tax and State Budget - Are we asking the right questions?
The county government is implying that we either need the drink tax or we have to raise property taxes. We should be wondering why taxes keep being raised? Taxes continue to take more of our paychecks at a quicker pace than our income increases. Governor Rendell has proposed a 4.5% increase in the state budget for the upcoming fiscal year, and last time I checked, a majority of our families in PA did not get a 4.5% increase in their salaries. What this comes down to is government takes more, and PA residents get less. There needs to be a stronger stance on keeping money in residents’ pockets because government is too quick to push the ‘raise taxes’ button. ARTICLE
